Medical: Exams & Assessments

Mieke-2Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. After 8 yrs of age, we currently recommend a mid-year exam as well, because of the sudden onset of many problems that will be missed if on a 12 month check-up cycle. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best.
TE7_3A complete medical assessment begins with a thorough physical examination whereby your pet’s eyes, ears, skin, cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal and skeletal system are examined for any abnormalities. Blood tests can be performed as necessary to assess the proper functioning of your pet’s kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system including the thyroid gland and adrenal glands. Urine tests can detect similar problems. Depending on your pet’s condition, we may recommend further diagnostic tests such as radiography (X-rays), endoscopy (internal scoping), ultrasound or surgery.
