Blue Gentian Lake on the Brothers Creek Loop
A very dog friendly trail, this will take you 2.5 hours if you’re fit – 3-4 hours is a normal walking pace. Wait until the sunny days of July through September after the Knee Knacker race, as there is a lot of deadfall that needs to be cleared after winter.
Whyte Lake Loop
After the Olympics, the city received funding to upgrade the Whyte Lake trail. The last 2 kilometers after the bridge are now classified as “dog on leash”. The main trail is an easy 30-45 minutes each way, but if you can get someone to show you the entry after the old (unused) highway bridge, you’re in for a beautiful walk through an arbutus grove on the cliffs.
Whytecliff Park Trail Loop
A very nice 2 kilometer loop to take the dogs and kids. You’ll see lots of old growth trees, granite and arbutus trees.
